Disaster can strike anytime and anywhere. It takes many forms -- a hurricane, a tornado, a flood, a fire or a hazardous spill, an act of nature or an act of terrorism. It builds over days or weeks, or hits suddenly, without warning. Every year, millions of Americans face disaster, and its terrifying consequences. Often times, Copiah County residents are affected by these events. For every facet of your daily life you need to know what you are going to do when an emergency occurs, either at home or while at work. It is important for residents and business owners to understand what they will need to have readily available during and following an emergency.  Every family should be prepared to take care of themselves up to 72 hours after any of the following disaster related events.

  • Tornadoes
  • Thunderstorms
  • Lightning
